INFANTS

6 WEEKS -24 MONTHS OLD

Room Overview

At Community Concern #13 our infant room provides a warm and stimulating environment for your child.  To maintain a sense of balance we designate specific places for sleeping, playing, diapering and feeding.

Our infant room is designated to provide an atmosphere that encourages exploration.  Infants are eager to learn and explore, so we provide an individualized program designed to encourage your baby’s development.  The daily schedules developmentally appropriate activities for infants such as book exploration, tummy time, and opportunities to reach, grasp, pull themselves upright, musical experiences and more.  Our caregivers understand that a balanced routine includes plenty of attention and lots of age-appropriate toys and activities.

Warm and Nurturing Interactions are Part of our Daily Care

Warm and nurturing interactions that include hugging, singing, rocking and playing are a part of our daily care.  We encourage constant sensory stimulation as we talk and sing while we diaper, feed, play and comfort your child.  Interactions such as these allow your child to develop a sense of trust.

We understand that every infant has an individual schedule.  We do not force set schedules for our infants.  Feeding, sleeping, playing, and snuggling all happen according to a routine that fits your child’s needs.  At the time of enrollment, parents are required to submit a written statement giving formula and feeding schedules. We work with parents to develop a schedule that works for their baby.  We send home daily communication sheets so that parents are aware of the events, activities and care that were provided throughout the day, as well as feeding and diapering done throughout the day.
